Two Transmissions + Four Motors = Super Electric Sports Car

As part of its "AMG Performance 2015" strategy, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled new details of its all-electric SLS AMG E-CELL supercar. Reducing emissions and fuel consumption does not cut 0-60 mph performance compared to the internal combustion engine version — thanks to four synchronous 132 hp (162 ft-lb torque) electric motors, one near each wheel, driving one transmission on each of the front and rear axles.
